We're so happy you've decided to tour our online bakery. Throughout the years we've managed to perfect the elusive French macaron to where we can bake, wrap and ship them anywhere in the country without losing that elegant taste you know and love. Now our specialty lies in one and only one delicious treat that has become a local favorite and now a nationwide phenomenon! We're introducing the country to this little known "bonne bouche" in hopes of giving the chocolate chip cookie or double fudge brownie a run for its money in the American kitchen. For those of you who are veterans of these tasty morsels, we wont judge you for your addiction. It happens to us on a daily basis. But for new-comers, we hope to arm you with a bit of knowledge regarding what goes into a macaron so you can see too why it has become such a staple in France and throughout Europe. Macarons? Huh?

So what the heck are French macaroons (aka macaron) anyway? To get rather detailed about it, a French macaroon is a meringue-based sandwich-cookie confectionary made from egg whites, almonds (usually), and granulated and confectionary sugars. After baking, the outside of the macarons have a smooth, egg shell-like crust with a light and moist interior. Two macaron cookies are then fused together using a cream or a jelly, to create one French Macaroon.

Now most macarons come in a variety of flavors and we’re no different. At the Macaron Store we’re always testing new, mouthwatering flavors and combination aimed at challenging your pallet over and over again. From the traditions of almond and chocolate to the wild flavors of passion fruit and black currant – you’ll find them all at the Macaron Store! And with gluten being such a prominent dietary issue in today’s society, you’ll be happy to know that all our macarons are both flour and gluten free. Clearly these cookies were ahead of their time.

Why You've Never Heard of a Macaron

Since you’re now up to speed on what a macaron is, you’ll likely find that your neighborhood bakery doesn’t ship nor possibly even carry these delicious cookies. It’s a challenge to first make them correctly with the genuine consistency and punch of flavor you’ll find overseas and to ship them without damaging their dainty exteriors is near impossible. Fortunately, through continuous trial and error we’ve established an affordable means of catering to their fragile shell.  Not only that, but we pride ourselves on that “fresh from the oven” taste as if you pulled them out yourself! In following simple guidelines, our macarons are baked consistently, packaged professionally and shipped to your door in time to capture the fresh flavors you’ve grown to enjoy. We’d clearly run out of customers if any component of the process were compromised. Our core customer base would be running for the hills of France if we couldn’t deliver what we promise. But just as we hoped, they keep coming back for more!

Our French Macaroons are Becoming a Tradition

We’re so grateful to become a part of your most cherished traditions as well. The Macaron Store has been a one-stop shop for all occasions. Our cookies have witnessed elaborate wedding ceremonies and been a part of surprise birthday parties and family holidays. Our favorite tradition however, is reuniting a customer with a taste of bliss on a return trip from France. As memories of strolling the Champs-Elysees and sipping Vouvray with a loved one slowly start to fade, we’re honored that we can reunite our patrons with a taste of a fond memory that they’ll never forget. Knowing the role we play in our customers’ mind is ever vivid in ours and it’s a responsibility we certainly do not take lightly.

Further, our macarons make a perfect gift. Many people have us ship to their friends or loved ones for special events or holidays. Any of our macarons make a great gift, but most people send our assortments in the beautiful blue box. If you are sending a gift we can include a gift message for you, this is an easy addition to your order, just choose the gift message option and type the message you would like us to send before adding the item to your cart.
